I will admit this is the first time I've read your article, but I don't see where Gates is advocating amnesty for illegals? Do you have another link where he states this specifically, or are you just reading more into the article than what is printed? Notice how the author of the article slipped in that Mexico is angered at the proposed border fence - but no comments regarding this are attributed to Gate's visit - completely unrelated to Gate's comments, but seems to place that spin to the article.

My take is that he does support greater access for foreign workers to enter into this country - and a more open immigration policy! The group he particularly singles out are skilled and educated workers - such as the scientists and engineers from China and India currently working for him.

What do I think? If my take on the article is correct, I would agree. People who have these advanced skills, people with these degrees, people willing to leave their homelands, and who are willing to respect our laws and come here via the legal process, should be allowed in with open arms. Anyone who comes here illegaly however, aught to be escorted back to the border checkpoint as soon as they are caught. Give them an instruction book, printed in their native language, with info on how to come back legally, and return them home!

Bill Gates is not Jewish! LOL Does he go to the Synagogue? No!
So.... Why some Americans pretend to label rich guys as Jews?

The third richest Man of the world ( Slim-Helu) Is Mexican, not Arab! even if he has Lebanese decency!

The racial cards are obsolete in the States. Liberal Republicans pro-Zionism, need more options to manipulate the media.

He is after cheap labor and stated such before congress - not in those words of course. But that is the end result.

No real shock as all big business is looking to drive down wages to the lowest possible so that they get more profit.

What I think? I think that he is a man with way too much money and looking for more that others will pay the price for with cuts in their wages and benefits.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Microsoft Chairman
Bill Gates, the world's richest man, said on Tuesday the United States should reform its immigration laws and give more flexibility to higher-skilled foreign workers.

He wants reform as in more H1Bs so he can hire them. He didn't say amnesty. However, his kids go to private school, I'm sure, and it isn't like he will ever need county subsidized health care, so what skin would it be off of his nose, in any event?

He, just like Bank of America, is using illegal immigration to boost up sales. It's a simple thing, really. Have you seen a Bank of America commercial? Some of them say "no social security card required", which basically means "we do not care for immigration, we just wanna raise our sales". Bill Gates is doing the same thing. It's ridiculous.

He'll never get me to switch from my iPod to a Zune!!

He is a monopolizing dork. He doesn't care about illegals. He only wants foreigners to enter the country, and make money so that Microsoft can sell more software to more people. He did not become the world's richest man by being compassionate. He did it by being greedy.

Greed pure and simple. Cheaper wages=lower costs= more profit.

Gee, could it be that he doesn't feel he has yet accrued quite enough money? I think he wants to allow more foreigners into the country in order to further depress wages, even in the sciences, so that even his companies can make even bigger profits.
