I just want to relax and get my mind off of all the drama in my life right now. I think a 7 day trip would be good, no airports or checkin lines, ya know?

HELL HELL HELL TO THE NO! lol Amtrak sucks ***, I'd rather drive than take Amtrak ever again. They used to be soooo much better, but the trip is so crappy now. Filthy restrooms and lousy food is all Amtrak has to offer.

yes you can take Amtrak across the nation expect to change trains in Chicago, (its a beautiful way to see the country!)
they do have sleepers (all types of accomodations can be
had you can get a berth, roomette or even a bedroom
(all the sleeper accomodations are in addition to the train fare)
but all your meals are included in that price
some trains even offer movies or national park guides on board
just beware that due to freight traffic Amtrak trains sometime
run late..
I myself took Amtrak from Los Angeles to the Grand canyon
(had a great time)
check with Amtrak for more information

It sounds good to me. I've never been on the train that long though, but then again I've never got to ride just for R&R either.
Could be just what you need to get life and all its striffs out of sight and mind for a little while!
