Jeffrey Dahmer accepted Jesus Christ before he died....so to you Christians out there; are you ready to spend eternity in heaven with him?????
By your own rules he is there right?

(Yes...I know he is already dead!)

Does anyone else think that the Christian "qualifications" for attaining "heaven" are ridiculous?

Yes I do find it extremely ridiculous and offensive that someone like Dahmer would be in a place like "heaven" and a good and noble human such as Ghandi would be in hell. It's a good thing there is neither of those places.

And I find some of the answers you are getting to be equally ridiculous. They would probably also say that those people who raped and killed that little boy in Georgia would also go to heaven if they repented and accepted Jesus. That whole redemption thing is a big thorn in my side.

If there was a heaven and Jesus was the son of some god who accepted child molesters, murderers, rapists, cannibals, and other vicious criminals, I would beg to be sent to hell. I think Dahmer falls into every category.

Fortunately, there is no heaven and no god. It is absolutely frightening that some people believe their god is so "loving" that he would take Dahmer into paradise with him. That's not a 'loving' god. That's an ignorant nutjob who exists solely for the taste of sacrifice. It is ridiculous to me that so many Christians say that they would accept Dahmer, but not homosexuals. First of all, there is the obvious contradiction, but most importantly how could ANYONE say that homosexuality is a sin at all, let alone one that is never "forgiven" because it is so abominable, even if the person believes in Christ? Because SO MANY Christians on here say that, and it's disgusting.

I am so happy I've got a one-way ticket to reality. If I had to go to the Abrahamic version of heaven I'd commit afterlife suicide.

God does not require you to abandon your common sense. How could a good man go to hell simply because he did not hear of Jesus? Conversely how could an evil man go to heaven simply because he 'accepted' Jesus before he died? Despite what the masses believe, you should not deny the voice inside you which is God given and guides you away from the ignorance of others. That voice is your pure voice of objectivity and its intended purpose is to lead you to God if a God exists at all. You cannot accept God simply because others do so, or are saying that damnation awaits you if you do not do as they do. How can such a God exist and still call Himself 'loving'. God is patient enough to wait for you to come to the realization that He exists. It is a question of your discovery. Fear never leads you to God. Only Love does. So do not subscribe to what others are claiming is right, but rather honour the song of your soul that is telling you what can be and what is surely not. The joyous truth you eventually discover may have little to do with religion but so full of the joy and peace of God who is God.

Unfortunately, the strict interpretation of the "accept Jesus and go to Heaven" rule does not consider the Earthly definition of what makes people good and bad. As you point out - a really bad person can get into Heaven and a really good person can get thrown into Hell.

Doesn't seem right to me neither.

John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, the WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Romans 10:9 and 10 - "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth and BELIEVE IN THY HEART that God has raised Christ from the dead thou shalt be saved."

If Jeffrey Dahmer repented of his sin and believed with his heart that Christ's blood could cleanse him from that sin he is in Heaven. Some of you may not know that the "Son of Sam" also got saved, and his first month as a Christian he led 25 convicts to Christ. When offered a pardon and release from prison he said that he felt that God wanted him to stay in the prison to reach out to prisoners and refused the pardon.

Paul, considered by many to be the greatest apostle that ever
lived, had Christians pulled out of their homes and killed before he ever accepted the truth of Christ's sacrifice for him.
After he became a Christian he traveled all throughout Asia and Europe proclaiming the gospel and established many churches while he was alive. He was beaten, left for dead, and endured a lot of opposition and mockery and finally death
in Rome for what he believed. A murderer? How could God allow such a person to go to Heaven.

The answer is simple. God's mercy is greater than our sin.

The problem: Many who have never murdered anyone but who are guilty of lying, stealing, coveting and a multitude of other sins will not receive this forgiveness of their own choice.

As Ripley said, "Believe it or not." I say, "Believe it or else!"
God loves everyone, but will not tolerate unrepentant sinners.
Everyone who reads this post will stand before Him one day, and there will be no unanswered questions then.

I heartily suggest that everyone who reads this check it out for
themselves while they still have breath in their body. None of us is promised another hour or day of life. The Bible says, "It is appointed unto men once to die, and after that the judgment." THIS IS AN APPOINTMENT WE WILL KEEP WHETHER WE WANT TO OR NOT. Being ready for that judgment is wise. Leaving earth without preparing for judgment is utter foolishness.

There is no repentance possible the other side of the grave.

I don't believe Ghandi is in hell, and yes Dahmer is in heaven if he truly repented and accepted Christ. If he is there, no I don't have a problem with it cause it's great that there is one less person in hell. No I don't think the rules of salvation are ridiculous and any Christian who understands them doesn't either. I find it so funny really that most people think that you can just say your sorry and all is forgiven and go right on doing whatever you want to do. IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT! God is smarter then that and all knowing. He knows what is in someone's heart and if they are truly sorry for what they did or just saying it to appease themselves of guilt or to 'make sure' they are going to heaven. To truly repent means to feel anguish at the sin, to feel horrible at sinning against a Father who loves you and sent His Son to die just so you could be with Him. To truly ask for forgiveness means that you DON'T EVER want to do the sin again. Yes, we're not perfect and no one is, but we try to live a life that is pleasing to God and when we sin, those of us that are sincere, learn from it and make the effort to not do it again.

Why don't you people get it??? God doesn't want you to go to hell and He doesn't send anyone there. When you sin your soul is STAINED. Tainted. A soul stained cannot enter heaven! Heaven is a pure place and sin cannot exists there. That is why God sent His Son to die, so that there would be a way for you to be with Him. He is not an angry God, but yes, just like any loving parent He will correct and punish His children as necessary. If you are not of His flock, then He doesn't touch you, doesn't punish you, doesn't do anything to you. He chastens His children so they will learn to follow in the right path.

I'm so sick of you non-believers that whine about Christianity. God's angry and sends people to hell, Christians can do anything they want and just say they're sorry and it's all better. If you're going to talk about Christianity and whine about it, at least do some research and get your facts straight!

There are different rewards in Heaven. Salvation was given to everyone who repents and turns to Christ and the Atonement. The "level" you achieve is based on your relationship with Christ and your actions involving this relationship.

Heaven and Hell is not some "line drawn in the sand." The stronger you relationship with Christ, and the more sincere your repentance, the closer you will be stationed to our Heavenly Father.

If you'll go back and check, I didn't waffle the answer to your question. I told you point-blank that if Dahmer accepted Christ as his Savior, he was forgiven and cleansed of all unrighteousness. Therefore, he would be a brother in Christ with all rights to Heaven and I would have no problem with that.

As to where Gandhi is, I have no idea. That's God's call, not mine. I don't presume to say who goes where when it's all said and done.

Do not ask mercy from God if you are not merciful yourself.

Heaven is the perfect place and we no longer have desire to do wrong, so heaven is very safe place for all of us who will accept Jesus as Savior. Good for him. I bet he regrets he could not love Jesus already here and use his story as testimonial on how Jesus forgives even when world does not. It is better to trust in God than in world.

I do not question God's wisdom like that. I would not throw the first stone ever! Never I would do that.
