When sending mail to an APO or APE adress, it is the same as sending any package or letter anywhere in the US. You will pay standard postage for whatever class of mail you are sending. If you are sending a package, don't bother with express or first class, because it will get there when it gets there, when I was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2000, that was about ten days coming from North Carolina. If you send a package to an APO/APE address, make sure that you have a customs declaration on it.

Commin from a priar army wife, an APO addy is considerd like an american soil addy in a way. The same rules and prices for if u sent a post card in america and send the same one to a soldier over seas, they will cost exactly the same!
Same goes for weight of care packages, but be sure to pack these very safe for those take a long ride over there and it is a very bumpy one at that! Good luck and the soldier will appriciate that and keep in mind that postage stamp cost is going up soon!

nope, stamps are 39 cents now. they will be going up to 41 cents in may. one stamp at 39 cents is fine for an apo. as long as it does not weigh more than an ounce. over 1 ounce it will be 63 cents. over 2 ounces is 87 cents. etc.

It should be. You aren't sending mail (technically) overseas, but to a U.S. installation. The postal service delivers it to the APO and the military delivers it to the servicemember. It's not like overseas airmail.
