It sounds like it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. The carpal ligament, if too tight, can supress nerves that run underneath it, causing tingling and numbness. Or you could be pinching some nerves in your shoulders that radiates to your hands. Could you try sleeping on your back to see if they still go numb? If they don't, it's probably carpal tunnel or a pinched nerve. I'd go back to the Doctor and get it diagnosed. Good luck.

I deal with the same thing. I found out it was carpal tunnel. You can get wrist braces to sleep in to keep your wrist straight during the night & U will not experience the numbness. It's worked for me for 3 yrs. Braces are around $8- $20, I recommend the smaller ones. I have 2 types & like the smaller one the best, you get use to wearing them & it doesn't effect your sleep other than making you sleep w/o numbness. I hope Ur pain goes away soon.

COULD BE B-CAUSE U R SLEEPING WITH YOUR ARMS IN A POSITION THAT IS CUTTING OFF CIRCULATION OR YOUR ARMS ARE ELEVATED AND THE BLOOD ISN'T FLOWING UPWARDS. THIS HAPPENS TO ME SOMETIMES AND THIS IS ALWAYS THE REASON, I WAKE UP TO NUMB HANDS AND I JUST REPOSITION MY ARMS AND THEY ALWAYS RETURN TO NORMAL AND I GO BACK TO SLEEP.

Depends on where your hands are numb (i.e., which fingers). This could be carpal tunnel.
