I'm about to give you TMI...
my parents were really great... when I was a teen, I didn't think so... but hey were soft spoken, kind, and tolerated my adolescent crap like pros...
Last year, I had to take legal custody of them...they both had dementia... and I looked forward to treating them kindly despite the dementia, just like they had been kind to me while I was a teen...
They passed away before I had to be patient with them... I felt glad it was over (for them) but disappointed that I didn't get the chance to repay their kindness.

My way of thinking is very similar to my dad. It's downright weird, that as an adult, sometimes my dad and I say the same thing at the same time. We have similar questions and similar temperaments.
My style of communication is very similar to my mother. She taught me a lot about how to talk to people just by sharing her anecdotes as a public health nurse.
My mom's an RN. My dad was an aerospace engineer.

My parents and I have always gotten along great. They have always trusted me and I've never given them a reason not to. They have let me make mistakes and have never looked down on me for doing such. So, I related to my parents well and I love them very much!

Mother: Green personality. Open-minded, logical, always ready to answer questions I have.
Father: A true blue personality. A people person. Always knows how to say the right thing to make me feel a bit better.

I haven't spoken to either of my parents in years. I don't call them, I don't write, I don't send holiday or birthday greetings. I have nothing at all to do with them.
They're dead.

I'm their son.
Because they had sex which resulted in my conception and later birth, and I inherited the Y chromosome from my father instead of his X chromosome.
