I realize that similar questions have been posted, but it did not answer the question I was looking for. There obviously is evidence out there for a Creator. Yes I know, not only the Bible, but scientifically also. But is there proof that the Almighty is not dead, and there indeed is a heavenly land, a life after death(which is an oxymoron mind you), or perhaps a soul. Scientists, Preachers, feel free to answer your own way. Don't flame each other, we've come here to make peace, and talk reasonably as men. Yes, I am agnostic, but don't let these stereotypes blacken your eyes. Open your minds, don't be fools, if you decide to say something stupid, then just leave it alone and stay quiet. I am willing to open my mind and talk further on this topic. Thanks.

There are several books out there for all of those of you who are asking about evidence. Case for a Creator, Case for a Christ, Case for faith, etc. The collection is written by Lee Strobel, a man born Christian, converted Atheist by evolution, and turned back Christian. Sorry I did not provide you with a direct answer here, but if you are as willing as you suggest you are, you will find this book and read it. Trust me, I have always been on the Atheist/Agnostic side, because it has always been logical; a lot of books I looked for to prove a God just made more atheist, this by far is the most reasonable Christian enforcing book I have heard of. In my view, I think there is evidence on both sides, and that is only because the eyes sees what it seeks. What have you found, please share, thanks again.

"I looked for to prove a God just made more atheist"

Sorry, grammatical error, meant to put "...I looked for to prove a God just made me more atheist."

Wow, I appreciate all the positive things that came in here. It's surprising that no one attacked each other, think about how often that happens. Anyhow, obviously there is information on both sides, read it and consider it. I have two questions for each side. Is it faith if you never question it, or question the disbelief of it, and simply believe it just because? That's not true faith is it? Isn't that just fear of all things otherwise. If it's not then what of the people who actually DO seek religion simply for comfort and because the fear. For the Creationists, can you really believe "experiments" made tens or hundreds of years back, by men who wanted desperately to be recognized by the great members of their society. Especially if you have no actual knowledge of experience of the experiment yourself? The second thing I ask of you is prove to us all why your belief is better than the opposite. However tread lightly, we have a good system going, don't ruin it.

It is all in my heart my friend, many things in the real world cannot be put under a microscope. Jesus is Lord, and will be for eternity.

A great book as well is called "A Skeptic's Search for God" by Ralph O. Muncaster. He became an agnostic and then an athiest due to church/school/family inconsistencies. He asked a Christian to prove God existed. The Christian turned it around on him and asked him to prove that there was NO God. So he set on to do just that. Over a period of many years and weighed down by overwhelming evidence he became a Christian. This book has scientific evidence if you are open to it. Read it. It answers a lot of questions and delves into scientific explanations as well as the law of probability. He also wrote a series called "Examining the Evidence". So that is my challenge to non believers, prove God does not exist. It is easier to prove the existence of something than that something does not exist. For instance, for me to say there is no gold in China, I would have to scour the entire country and turn over every stone, look in every mouth, etc. But, to say there is gold in China, all I have to do is find the tiniest piece. The problem is whatever Christians would use as proof is not something a non believer would accept. If you put your trust in God He will manifest Himself to you, you will know Him. Even back when Christ walked the earth - HIs miracles were not enough to convince some people. There was this great study a friend of mine did and it caused her to really believe in the Bible after being raised Catholic and thinking the Bible was just a nice set of stories. I wish I could remember the name of it. Her stance is true - you can't always prove the Bible is true by just saying "because the Bible says so" - you need external proof, this study provided that for her. Once she trusted in the accuracy of the Bible - she then believed the truth of God and Heaven. Then she entered into a personal relationship with Jesus and is one of the strongest Christian women I know. She lives and breathes it. She is a good witness for the true Christian faith. I hope a portion of this helps. :o)

With all due respect, you say there is "evidence out there for a Creator", but if this was true we wouldn't have scientists still trying to figure out the big bang (which actually has scientific evidence) and religious people arguing about their gods. Since the beginning of time, man created "god" to compensate for the lack of understanding forces of nature around them that they couldn't explain. I personally love it because i get to question these things and explore on my own. We may never know if there really is life after death because there is no connection between people of both worlds to prove it (considering there is life after death). There is no proof, however, of the "Almighty", let alone him/her being dead or alive, or a "heavenly land", or souls (which in my opinion are pointless because the brain controls all of your emotions and actions). Science is the only thing that has proof of anything so far and that is evolution. Now some would say that the bible or the Torah or any other from of literature that represents a religion is proof of its own religion, but if anyone has learned anything from school, you would know that such a book or collection of documents is considered a secondary source, whereas scientific experiments are primary sources. Just throwing my opinions and views out there. : )

Unfortunately there is no way to scientifically prove the existance of God. If there were, this discussion would not exist. Long ago, God spoke directly to Man, and to many different men and women. For them, that was proof positve of the first degree, contact. Still more witnessed miracles and works of wonder that could not be explained by scientific means or reason. This was proof in the second degree. Finally, and this is where most today and in the past fall, the written word of these accounts supported by tradition have brought knowledge of these events to the believers who have not seen and yet choose to believe. Evidence it is. Proof? Well, for those who believe the evidence is proof enough. Some feel the need for God to make a command performance for every single human being of every generation from the begining of time 'til the cows come home. I say there is evidence aplenty for all to see, use your free will and choose. You are free to accept or reject. You are responsible for your choice and the consequence.

Look around you, what more proof do you need?
Read the Bible, what more proof do you need?

I am excited to hear what explanation of creation you will put up as an argument, and how to prove that, or gravity, the orbits of the planets, the beauty of a songbird and so forth

In the Bible, we have first hand witness descriptions, why is it so hard to grasp for some?

My recommendation is, read the Bible, be critical, study with others, ask questions, and let the Bible answer.

Try visit a Bible teaching Church, whom is based on sound Doctrine alone.

How about looking at it upside down, is there any proof that it is not as described in the Holy Scripture?

It is easy to set up critical questions, try to sow doubts, and I am sure the prince of darkness will gladely help. Unfortunately, it is also so very easy to confuse peoples who does not have a background of sound doctrine.

You and I are going to die. I assume after death, in accordance with you doubtfull mind, nothing will hapen. Would that have been the truth, you and I will both just become dust.
According to my belief, a man who is commited to Christ will be taken to Heaven, a non commited man will go to Hell. Setting our disagreement on the excistence of God asside and use simple logic, the dusty way, no one will get harmed. But Heaven/Hell methode, there will be a prize winning side and a punishment side .

Sola Scriptura

I think that today, we are influenced more and more by the three basic things: Sex, Drugs, Violence. You see it everywhere. And you used to be able to escape it by the movies, but even they have become complacent. And it seems that more people get into things that were, in my age, taboo. But the real problem is how blatant it is. And most people mock Christianity anyway. (Again, you can see it on TV,etc...) They would rather do the opposite of what the book says because 1) it's easier 2) It's promoted. And even Science gets into the act by claiming to be "God" by refusing and trying to defuse, or confuse the belief itself. One "Fool of a man" called it "Religious Behavior." And how do you dispute archaeological facts? The Rosetta Stone, Hammurabi's Code, The Adam & Eve Seal, And even Flood deposits from Fara, and other Pre-flood cities? Most of the evidence sits in a museum, where no kid would dare enter nowadays. (The only kids you catch in a museum are "Nerds" & on school trips.) So it goes to show you people are dumb like animals. Now I never wanted to believe the term "A bunch of cows out in the pasture" but every day it becomes more and more evident.

Proof of God has been searched for since the first thought of a God, and so it seems unlikely it will be resolved here, but perhaps we can gain some clarity as to why this is so.

Regardless of how one approaches the question of the source of mind, whether from a religious or an agnostic perspective, it must be clear that the source of mind cannot, itself, be a mind. To say it another way, that which is the source of all conceptualization is 'prior to' all concepts, and therefore is not, itself, a concept.

Conceptualization is all that the human mind is capable of, and if it's own source is not conceptual, there is literally no hope of ever being able to identify it with the mind.

God is real. Just like you said you can look in the bible . I have a friend who doesn't believe in God, which I don't know if you do or not, but I wrote down some bible verses for him. Here is one:
Isaiah 45:5
I am the Lord, there is no other; apart from me there is no God.I will strenghten you although you have not yet acknowledged me. I don't need proof to believe in God, I just know he's real. The reason I dont need proof is because who do you think gives you that really good feeling inside when you Help somebody up after they have fallen? Who do you think holds you back from doing somethings? It's not your conscience. It's God.

hey tony, make it a point to listen to Tony Evans founder of the Urban alternative, I've been a christian about all my life but I still learn things about God daily from many different sermons and teachers. But Tony can help you understand no matter what your age, IQ, sex, race. Someone once asked me about the world being about 4 billion years old compared to the bibical +- 10,000 years? I once heard a preacher ask how old was Adam when God created him? 1 minute or about 30 yrs old?? Any way it gets you to thinking. Thanks for being open minded, I hope you get the solution you need!!

I'm an athiest but have personally had an experience that seemed to be evidence of something.. I had a problem with pain in my heel. It had been going on for over a year. One Thanksgiving I was at church with my Catholic wife. Toward the end of the services Catholics pause to shake the hands of the people around them and wish them "peace". My heel had been aching more than usualy that day but immediately after shaking hands with the people behind us I realized the pain was completely gone. That was the last day I ever had that pain. Maybe it was coincidence, maybe not. I don't have an answer.

no proof, of any such existence of higher being. but many different religions believe different things. i am persian/indian, so i follow hinduism/zoroastrianism. according to these two religion our world, and nature is the force, the energy behind our existance, so we believe that nature is god. the goal of life is not to worship a being, but realize who we are and apply intelligence. but as in my personal view, i only take the lessons on life that religion preaches, i personally believe that its a mystery that cannot be solved, since one does not know whether people in past who created religion has some mental disorder or not, or some situation which caused delusion. religion is clearly man made, and just as prone to mistake as human today are. i dont believe in anything that has not been proven via science. science has led us to so much progress, why not trust something that is concrete, and actually exists
