Witchcraft is practiced by many Wiccans, but not all. There's no rule saying that you have to practice magic in order to be a member of the religion.
So I'd say go for it, and see if the devotional aspects of the religion suit you.

Ok, I used to practice and while I have now chosen Christianity as my path, I still believe in energy(I kinda have to, I can see it). So, here is something that I learned. All spells are is moving energy into an intended direction. You want money, you move energy in the direction of bringing money. Whatever it is. Prayer is much the same thing, moving energy toward a specific goal. The difference between spells and prayer is that spells usually use such things as candles, herbs, words on paper, other material items, which is basically just to focus your mind on the goal. Prayer may use candles but rarely uses other things, simply using words in the mind to focus the energy. The other difference is the deity.
I'm a Christian, and yes I still purposely direct energy towards what I want. Everyone has a aura and affects energy no matter what they believe. It's the great secret that people often don't realize they have the power to do. Using this ability, that everyone has, does not affect my faith in anyway that would be bad. If anything, I think it enhances my awareness of it. I don't call it spells anymore and I don't use items and gagets... I pray. But I'm still sending energy. I would say give it a try, I think you might be surprised with the results.

I am not sure there are any actual requirements to become Wiccan. Spell casting is not a requirement. It is not even a requirement in witchcraft (though more likely to be used). I am a witch, not Wiccan. Most of my energy is spent working with divination, herbs, gems & minerals, colours rather than formal spell work. More in the line of studying the effects and utilizing them.
Perhaps you should do a bit more studying before chosing your path. If you are not particularly interested in joing a coven investigate being a solitary. Personally I prefer to work alone.

That's fine. You might be different than other Wiccans cause you haven't practiced ritual and spell casting, but if it works for you , why not? If the important thing is the spiritual aspect, just work with that. Most Wiccans do practice magick, but not every single one of them does. It is a religion that embraces magick, but that doesn't mean magick is the the basis of the religion. If you're happy and comfortable, than don't worry about it.

i couldn't get into spell casting, so i was never very successful alone; but when casting in a group i could lend my energy. i once did a ritual to break a binding on my friend and it required sending the energy back to the original 'casters' of the binding, and some really strange stuff happened to them all, within a few weeks. one had a heart attack, one got diagnosed w/breast cancer, one got crohn's disease, and the other had some sort of pulmonary clot (none died! thankfully). my friend & i were beginners & felt bad--even though we knew that all we did was send their own energy back to them. after that i couldn't really bring myself to do another ritual involving someone else, and my beliefs hav evolved into such that rituals are not part of it, and have been replaced by meditation.

I don't think that a serious person studies Wicca for the spells anyway!
I too am learning, and the spell part is the least thing that interests me...
Would you be prepared to carry out rituals?I would and this interests me, and as my understanding and faith grows perhaps the desire to cast positive spells will grow too.
I think you are going the right way about it, getting your belief and faith sorted out first!
Best of luck to you and i hope you continue to learn and grow!

Well, I'm a pagan, & I've been studying Wicca & general pagan traditions for almost 10 years now. Like many before me have said, you don't need to cast spells, hehehe. You don't have to do anything you don't want to! I don't really perform spells, though I do meditate on specific ideas I'd like to bring into my life, and I sometimes use items to help me focus, which is basically what spell casting is :) Anyway...you could always consider thinking of yourself as Pagan instead of Wiccan, so you don't have to feel like you have to do certain things & whatnot ;)
Much luck & love on your journey!!!

Not all Wiccans cast spells. It isn't a requirement. Heck I am a non-Wiccan witch and I rarely cast spells.

As Sage said, its not required that you cast spells. However, I would point out that prayer is a form of spell casting, just not as formalized.

If you are having doubts and reservations as to this being right, that it morely than likely isn't the right decision for you. You do not need to perform spells to have faith.
