New Hills Science Diet recall 6-3-14

Recalls are a scary subject for all pet owners. Food is such a huge part of your pets life that it is unnerving when things get recalled. Personally I feed my puppy Nutro Ultra because unlike other companies, Nutro manufactures all of its foods and treats in factories that it owns. This makes for superior quality control with over 600 quality checks per day. On top of that, Nutro facilities are the only ones that are safety certified by the independent body of the American Feed Industry Association. The AFIA conducts random inspections at production facilities. As for your pup, I would just switch the food. She may go through a bout of indigestion like diarrhea, but at least you will know the diarrhea is being caused by a change in food not something like contamination. She may not have any reaction at all if you try to keep the food along the same protein sources etc. Hope that helps :) Olivia Pet Nutrition Specialist Nutro
