I'm a 52 year old man who graduated from the school of Hard Knocks.I love dogs of any shape size or age.We have 4 dogs. They are all happy to see me when I get home.(to say the least).Do they return my love? or are they just anticipating their next bowl of food and water?

Dogs arent that shallow, of course they return your love.. unconditionally. If you were poor and had no food at all do you think your dogs would abandon you? never they love you too much for that, think about it. My dogs sit on the couch and gaze out the window the whole time I am gone, they even howl when I leave.. I know I taped them when I left to see what they did... they really missed me and didnt even care about the food sitting there.. they dont even eat at all until I get home. They lay under my chair wherever I am in the house, they watch my every move and they protect me from even percieved violence... woe to the person who makes me say ouch. If that isnt love I dont know what is. They are my best friends my family my comapnions my protectors... i wouldnt trade them for the world! I love them so deeply I cant even begin to explain it.. they make me laugh they make me proud they make me cry and in return all I have to do is love them... they ask for nothing more. Even dogs that are horribly abused still love the people who hurt them.. why because dogs are like love personified... it doesnt matter what u look like, where u live or how much money you have a dog is your one true friend that loves for the sake of love and not for what can be gained from it.

It's been scientifically proved that dogs feel love. I forget how they did it but they measured something in us when we feel love and then measured dogs and found the same thing. So YES they DO feel love and just like people they all express it in different ways. As for us, why we love our dogs so much? I can't speak for other people but for me I can't imagine a better friend. I've been through hell and back with people and dogs will never do the things people do. They won't ever betray you and try to kill you, they'll never cut your head off and put it on somebody's porch, they'll never give up your secrets. And they will always love you with a pure love. We humans can't seem to love without some other factor. They will love you even if you haven't fed them or played with them or walked them. They just love you. Maybe for the pure joy of feeling love but whatever it is I love dogs and will forever be true to them as they've been to me.

All human beings that are not psychotic, or mentally deranged in some way, want to be loved. Being loved is comprised of three basic things: 1. the desire to care for someone, or something, 2. to be valued for simply being themselves, and 3. know that they are needed in the world. Pets gives us 1. someone to care for, 2. do not judge us, and 3. actually depend upon us for their welfare.

Firstly, puddy, I have my cat, Meow Meow's Trust, Loyalty, Love and Affection, as she does have mine. She sleeps with an ear open On Guard and will growl if she hears footsteps at our
window. A dedicated pet differs from a human I find, IT DOES
NOT LIE! Her ample size dry food & water bowls remind her,
no matter how long I'm gone, I look out for her as she does me.
We started off and still sleep together for 9 yrs. As I settle in bed
she climbs on my chest to wash my face with kisses. If I turn,
she reaches for my face with paw & gentle claws to turn me.
Seems it is my laughter she wants to hear. Then I get a butt
of her head tipped down for me to give her an awesome rub.
All she asks for very low is for her treat and to go out. Men
she likes get her approval, better than my instinct alone.

Secondly, your four dogs cannot wait for your return soon
enough so they can resume defending and protecting he
that they know is their master. You don't have to go look
for them when you get home, Do You? That's good Love,
Trust, Loyalty and Affection, deserving of 4 milkbones.

I love my dogs because they keep me company when my husbands in Iraq. I love my dogs because they are never mean to me or judge me or demand anything other then food and affection. I love my dogs because I can't have kids, so they are my kids. I love my dogs because they are beautiful to look at, and yes your dogs love you very much, and probably wait all day just to see you walk through the door, so they can show you.

I love my dog unconditionally and I really feel he would do anything to protect me. I have a 9 month old rottweiler, Budweiser who is the best at reading emotions and always is sure to stay by my side when I am alone or scared and he cuddles up to me when I am sad. I am sure your dogs love you tons and the food and water is just another great benefit to your companionship!

I have two cats, and even though cats have their own minds and are not loyal like dogs, I still love them. My one cat greats me at the door almost every day after work. Plus, cats are suppose to lower your blood pressure. I feel animals are so innocent, and count on us humans to take care and love them. Where would they be without us?

My baby would die without me. She follows me everywhere, goes with me all the time. I had to go to emergency room and made them let me up to go check on her, and she cries constantly if she cant find me. for hours on end. Trust me, they love you.And why have I fallen so in love with my dog? I had two heart attacks, didnt expect to live another week. then this stray found me. now life has another meaning. I have a reason to take care of myself. She needs me. I never met a critter I didnt love.
