Only put a thin layer of savlon on it but do this regularly, to keep the skin hydrated, if you are scared to sleep on it then put another layer of savlon on it and then put some more cling film on it.
Whatever you do, DON'T pick at it!!! the scabby type thing shall fall off naturally and leave the tattoo fresh looking. If you pick at it then you risk a) making the tattoo bumpy and b) taking some of the ink off.
Let the scabs fall of naturally! And hopefully you'll have a gorgeous looking tattoo!

Ok
When I had mine done I covered it for about 10 days with preparation H which is believe it or not pile cream!! All I can say is it works! Skin stayed soft and the new tattoo protected. If you don't fancy that then ordinary Vaseline will do. Your tattoo artist really should have explained to you have to care for it while it heals though?
Best of Luck

Don't worry, it will dry up and scab over in a few days. Try not to pick at the scabs. You can sleep on it if you like, it's only if you are scratching it that it may mess up slightly. The ink is under your skin. Just keep it clean and put lots of cream on it.

what you think is skin is probably ink. for the first few days excess ink will come off of the tattoo. put a shirt on before you go to sleep that will cover the tattoo so there will be minimum rubbing and try not to sleep ON the arm.

it says dont pick it scratch it or put anything on it... youve just had the art... now you have to heal... covering it in clingfilm and goo whatever it is excludes the air from what is essentially and open wound...
very gently using warm water and soap wash it all off. place a light smear of vaseline over the area effected and wear a cotton shirt to bed.. tommorow when you wake the tattoo will have leaked..its blood plasma and perfctly normal... (wash the shirt) and wear a Tshirt and show your art to teh air... avoid furry clothes..they will cause irritation... it should start scabbing abd drying out within 48hours... dont pick the scabs.. itll bring the colour out..let em drop off....naturally...put that wire bush down!

I know that they don't really recommend it anymore but put vasaline on it i used it on all of mine and it never scabbed. I when i had one in the centre of my back it scabbed and a little bit fell off so now Eeyore is missing a little line. You have followed instructions on looking after a tattoo but maybe next time don't put it on so thick. You could always put a gauze on it so you can sleep. hope this helps

Do not worry about it. It sounds like a little bit of scabbing. Just keep an eye on it. If it starts to get painful then you should see a doctor. Make sure you keep it covered with the salve.

seems like your at the itchy ouchy shedding stage. if it looks soggy, then pat dry it with a paper towel. don't get it infected and over lotion it! seems like it needs to breathe more. sleep on your side or whatever and just try not to lay on it but whatever happens, it is your mark. the more one accepts it, the more it will just stay on there. yours, jahg i've noticed disinformation from the syndacate about tat heal. AD&D ointment will keep the ink within.

skin will peel off and be colored because it is the top layer where the ink was touching. you shouldn't put the sav on that thick though, its only supposed to be a thin coating. when i had mine done i just used a q-tip to apply a thin layer but make sure you keep it moist at all times.
