Yes, you can tell the adjuster to close the file, OR, you can call your AGENT, and tell them what the problem is, and get THEM working on it. That's what your agent is there for!!

I too don't understand why you would want to pass up the balance of the money they owe you. I assume there must be a coverage dispute or some dispute regarding value of the claim.

With that being said, you may run into some problems with trying to drop the balance of the claim. The company may not be able to do so depending on the laws of your state. If they have made you an offer you could just accept that and close the file. If they can let you close the file with no further payment I'm sure they will require something signed by you in case the State audits your file.

Why would you want to tell that ins co with all sorts of money that you don't want any more????

Have you spoken with your agent to find out just what the problem is???
