Could it be infectious-fever?contamination with something?travel abroad? Are there any other symptoms? Is the abdomen painful-crampy? does eating make it worse -better? sometimes viral/infectious diasease (=diarrhea) irritates hemorrhoids that bleed a little. Some high fever bacterial diseases like shigella cause bloody diarrhea-but you are pretty ill with fever, nausea etc also (I have personal experience) -these are rare in the Western world.
If none of the above seems probable, then maybe inflammatory bowel disease like ulcerative colitis or Chron's disease -which can vary tremendously in symptoms.some have mild , some really severe. It is probably the most common bloody-diarrhea-chronic condition that often, at least in the beginning, has very few other symptoms. There are also other possibilites -this list is not exhaustive.
all in all- whether it is this or that (and nobody can tell on this basis) -you need to see a doctor rather soon. If general condition is good, no fever, pains etc. and pees normally and can eat, drink and sleep normally -then you can go next week but if severe and any additional symptoms or problems with eating/drinking/sleeping/peeing -go to an ER in the weekend. They will quickly evaluate you and schedule for further tests if needed -and check your blood so you are not bleeding yourself anemic.
all the best

As a healthcare provider I'm telling you to not put this off. Rectal bleeding(hematechezia) is always important to investigate. If he came into the office I would do several blood tests and especially a CBC which will tell me if he has lost too much blood. He needs a colonoscopy as soon as they can get it done. We always rule out colon cancer first. I would next investigate ulcerative colitis or Chron's disease. He could also be having internal hemmorhoids which are bleeding from so many episodes of loose stools. So there ary several possibilities...but he needs to have this taken care of...do not put this off.

Putting hand down south and helping self out without getting big time. Clean him off and give him half a day of oral to cure him. Or, he has to just clean himself off, and lotion himself up, and leave down south alone for like 2 weeks or as best as possible. Keeping dignity is the only thing that really matters.

Unless He is on some kind of medication, I would go to the Doctor ASAP. It could be a bleeding polop, or just a reaction to a med. I would take my Hubby to the doc if this was the case in my house...Take him and let me know.....

I agree with the doctor but also it could be polyps which is usually benign small tumors that can be removed while the colonoscopy is done.
