im 17 and im trying to take my daughter to see her father who is in orange county jail.the jail says that i am to young that i would have to bring my mother,but outside of the jail im considered an adult because i have a child.so am i able to go and visite with out my mother

Whether you are a mom or not, lawfully, you are still a minor. Age limitations still stand no matter what your parental status is.

You are an emancipated minor (I was at 17 as well...I wasn't a mom, but I had graduated from high school). Basically this gives you the right to work as if you were 18 and not have to abide by driving curfews, etc.

Bottom line is that the jails age for visitation without someone over 25 or a guardian is 18. It doesn't matter what you are in the eyes of the law at that point. Unfortunately the facilities rule is 18.
