Older religions have more, and better adjusted, individuals as members which has forced those religions to be more moderate. Newer religions tend to be more radical and detached from reality because the members are less in touch with reality.

I am a Wiccan and even though Wicca as a name has only been around since1954, the belief system of most stems back to The Earth Mother religion.. The oldest religion known to man, yes we can trace it back 40,000 years, with artifacts.. The Christian religion is brand new and only rose to where it is today by murder and assimilation..I don't know much about Islam but based on history, it rose the same way..If you take a look at the Christian festivals they celebrate, they all have Pagan roots..Most won't accept this but it is a FACT..I find that mainstream religion as a whole has too many holes in it, too many triple standards and too much greed involved..Give me the old religion /s anyday as the are motivated by nature and honour and respect..Something which has been forgotten or ignored by the new religions.. My "Church" is out in nature.. I don't need obscene buildings filled with all the expensive trappings of the modern religions.. They preach peace but they are still killing each other.. 2012 will be the beginning of the end of all false religions..The only comparison of the older religions is what the newer religions stole from them.. Both are full of crap. Newer ones tend to be more progressive in their attitudes. But older ones at least have tradition on their side.

They're different due to age. More time has passed. More followers. They're similar because they're all cults. Every last one of them.

The newer religions are about peace and nirvana, while the old ones are just plain illogical...
