I am in collection for an old medical bill, but there is no evidences to show who was my insurance company at that time. I called the medical center but the record was deleted because the bill was written off. Do I still need to pay the bill?

if the bill was written off then that could mean 1 of 2 things
1st the collection agency bought the bill for pennies on the dollar and they will still come after you
2nd the medical center just wrote it off and no longer care about your bill.
But piece of advice if the collection has your bill they will try to sue you....let them don't pay, go to court even if you lose APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL most places will not go into the appeal process because of the time cost and it is hard to prove

Yes. You have to file a medical bill within a year, for it to be covered, anyway - so even if you find out who your insurer is, they don't have to pay it any more - and likely won't.

Yes, unless you can provide evidence of insurance at the time the bill was incurred.

While drs and hospitals may bill your ins co, it is up to you to provide accurate informaton.
