My father isn't disabled, and they paid for my brother's college, he gets to go to an out of state one in Washington, and we live in Georgia.

He is so lucky he got out before things got worse here at my house. Not to mention my parents have become very overproctective, and controlling of my time.

It's not your responsibility to make your mother happy and you shouldn't have to clean up after your father. I know it's hard but you have to take some of the pressure off of yourself. Your parents are adults and unless they have some kind of disability, you don't need to take care of them. They might try to make you feel guilty, but you need to go to college and get an education. It will probably be the hardest thing you've ever had to do, but you need to separate yourself from them. It's the best thing in the long run.

can you get a grant? are you out of High school yet? I would sit my parents down and calmly explain this. Is your father disabled? I think you should give more details in your question
and I do think youre a decent person for doing this. sooner or later you have to think of your life and future. You wont always be there for them. Now there is no law that says a parent HAS to pay for a child's college and I wouls say to them that you understand that, but I would also ask them when, when Mom, Dad, when do I get a chance to do what I feel is important to me. If you arre old enough I would suggest moving out, If not then you will have to tough it out a little longer. Its not easy in the real world but I am sure things will get at least tolerable when you move out. IT will be hard no doubt. If you are old enough the military has college options in exchange for 4 years service. If ya can put up with the crap at home ya should be able to handle military service. I know this hasnt been much help but I tried. good luck.

Have you looked into grants/student loans. Also you may want to consider going through community college for your first 2 years and then transfer to university - It is more affordable and gives you time to decide what you really want to do. In addition if you choose to get a 2 year degree and you choose a nontraditional field there is usually more financial aid offered - Good Luck to You!!!!

I don't know how old you are, and what kind of $ you have but for now you need to go stay with a friend or find you own place, then your parents will have to grow up and act like adults and let you still be the child

hunny, your in a tough situation. if you want to go to college its going to be up to you. i think you should first find a way for your family to get enough money to keep all of you fed, sheltered, and clothed. if you are 15, you can get a job of your own, start saving up now, and go to college when you are older.

best wishes in the future hun!!

Get some student loans and move onto campus. Tell them you're cutting the cord and it's time for you to have your own life.
