Ok so I straighten my hair quite often and I'm afraid it'll get dead/dry. What can I do to prevent this? How often can you straighten your hair without it getting dry?

You can use a number of products to protect it from the heat. I use S factor seriously straight spray. It protects your hair from heat damage and helps to straighten it while its drying so you don't have to use the iron so much on your hair.

Sweetie don't stress, I straighten my hair everyday before work. Not only do I apply that heat to my hair, every two months I get blonde highlights. So my hair should be the driest and frizziest hair ever. But, I do know a few tips. Use a ceramic plate iron, such as a Chi, they are the best ever. I couldn't live without it. The ceramic plates will smooth your hair out every time. Also allow you hair to air dry. Do not blow dry it unless you are in a hurry. Take a shower at night and let your hair dry over night. You can wake up and fix it in the morning. Also you a good hair healthy shampoo and conditioner. My favorite is Oatmeal and honey from catwalk, it just puts all the you take from your hair back. Also use a slight mist of hair protectant before straightening. Anything really works, I use thermasilk leave in conditioner. Seriously, I love my hair, and these things do work. I get complements all the time, so mine is not all dried out. But continue the upkeep such as regular hair cuts. You'll look gorgeous.

If you have a ceramic straightener then that helps. but ever straightener will make your hair a little dead at some point. thats why you need to get a haircut once and a while to keep it looking healthy. just a trim. but products will help too.
