My friend claims it's true, but I'd like another (knowledgeable) opinion.

Yes, there is a risk of greater blood loss with an injury following drinking. Alcohol is a vasodilator - the blood vessels are more relaxed and open - allowing a greater volume of blood flow. So if you are injured -- i.e. a laceratio (cut) or other type of injury (blunt force trauma) such as bruising, there is a tendency for increased bleeding if alcohol consumption is involved.

Yes it's true, alcohaul thins your blood. You will find your blood won't clott as quickly either because of it. Also it is easier to break or dislocate a bone when you are drunk or even the day after, that's what the doctor told me the last time I dislocated my wrist at least, oops!

Yes it's absolutely true, the alcohol thins your blood out, so more is released if you cut yourself or get a tattoo or something.

YES. Alcohol tends to make you stupid and sooner or later you mouth off to the wrong person. End result... you bleed much heavier than if you had remained sober.

it's true. that's why tattoo aren'ts won't (well aren't supposed too) do work on someone that's been drinking.

tylenol does it too.

it makes your blood thinner so if you get a cut it does bleed more.
