Because the earth itself is not going to be destroyed, Psalms 104:5, only this wicked system of things and people God judges as wicked, that would be everyone not doing his will or exercising faith in Jesus. This earth is where the majority of righteous people will live for all eternity. Psalms 37:11,29,34 and Genesis 8:29.

Actually, I know a lot of evangelicals who couldn't care less about the environment because they think Jesus is coming and we won't be here long enough to worry about it. I don't think Jesus is supposed to destroy the earth though. That's why we have rainbows, as a sign that God won't destroy the earth again...not to mention...if the meek will inherit the earth, how is that possible if it's destroyed?

I'm HARDLY an evangelical. They give me the creeps. My thing is...this is our home. Even a dog doesn't crap in it's den. We should take care of it because we want NICE things for our kids in the future. I don't want to hand down a giant junk heap...not to mention, we're only renting. We don't own this place. We're here for a while...and then it's someone elses home. If you have ANY class, you don't trash things that don't belong to you.

i ask myself that everytime i make a scrapbook page or want to buy something new. Its all going to be deystroyed someday right? But i guess we may as well enjoy this earth while we are he and preserve it for furture generations since nobody knows the hour or the day that Jesus will return.

The same question holds true for the atheists ... if you believe that we all die and go to ashes within a short 70 years, why do you care about the environment? You won't be here, you'll be gone forever.

The way we are demolishing the planet, Jesus will find nothing to destroy.

Until the Lord comes back we should continue to be good stewards of this world. Just because this world will one day be gone doesn't mean we shirk our duty.
