It completely depends on your foot type. Each shoe company is usually good for a certain type of foot. The best way to find out whats good for you is to go and try them on at the store and try jogging around a little.
The best is to go to a specialized running store. A lot of the time they can look at your current shoe and find out what kind of foot you have and what kind of runner you are based on the wear of the shoe. Based on that they can usually reccomend a good shoe.

Asics! Of course it depends if you are looking for comfort or stability. Many people are temped to say Nike because of their Shox for example but truthfuly you want better shoes. Nike Shox and other cool looking shoes are awesome yes but they don't offer real comfort. I would recomend Asics because their foam and Gel cushioning systems work very well and support runners in heel and arch. I am a very active runner and I like Asics. ALSO, another important aspect is insoles. Insoles are a great ad-in to any shoe that is large enough for them to fit in. Some may say that they do not work, but they work great and cushion your feet very well.

Asics and Nike both produce quality running shoes.

honestly, ill never buy another pair of nike running shoes again. I bought the nike shox and they were garbage. They messed up my knees. I think brooks makes the best running shoes out there. There a little bit heavy but thats good for training. It makes it harder to lift up your foot during practice. When you run a race and put on your spikes, you feel super light

well, it kind of depends on what kind of running you do. i'm more of a long distance runner and i always wear the Asics Gel Kayano. i love them. and they last really long too! i've had mine for over a year and they're still holding up! of course i only wear them when i'm running, never out and about or anything else, and i do usually run on a tread mill... but still, that's a long time when you're running at least 6 miles about 4 times a week in them!

I would say Nike and/or adidas. They're the main companies that have been around longer than most others so logic states that they should be making the best shoes. Though I'm partial to adidas since thats what I use.

i might say saucony (sorry if i butchered the spelling) or brooks. I certainly have brooks and that i certainly love them. in case you could, attempt to stay remote from asics because of the fact the guy that owns the working save i pass to says that aasics and nike are only engaged on making chic footwear and that they do no longer look to be engaged on the certainly shape of the shoe as lots.

I have been a Nike guy for years, but it is important, regardless of brand, that you know whether you need a shoe that gives maximum cushioning or one that gives extra stability. You need a stability shoe if you have low arches or if you pronate/toe out as you run. If you have high arches as I do, you need a well-cushioned shoe.
Frankly, there are a number of excellent brands putting out quality products. Get what suits your individual needs best.
