You can't make it go faster- a virus has to run its course. The first 72 hrs are worst but then it's bearable.
Drink lots of water, and chicken soup really will make your nose run and clear your sinuses. You want the nose to run and get the gunk out.
Take hot showers and let the steam clear your sinuses as well.

Drink lots of water......it will cause your nose to run in the short term....but gets all the icky illness out of your nose, therefore, stopping the runny nose. Also, if it's a virus, a virus can't reproduce in over-hyrdated conditions...so drink lots of water or orange juice.

I really like using No Time For Colds, which are these things that you suck on. They take away your cold symptoms for several hours, which is really helpful. Coldeeze are good, too. I can't wait till they come up with a cure for the cold!
