I leased a car (Mercury Sable) in 2004, but recently the dealership I leased it from closed down. I have three more payments on the lease and I would like to buy the car, but not sure how to go about it now that the dealership has closed? What should I do? Who do I contact to find out how i buy the car?

You didn't lease it from the dealer, you leased it from Ford. Another Ford dealership can handle the sale to you. Just take your lease document in so they can get the proper account number.

Where are you payments going? That is the answer, you were not paying the dealership, they (who the lease is through, most likely in some other state) will contact you about the car soon, or you can call them, then you have the choice to buy or give back the car.

A red carpet lease is a Ford credit lease. You may contact the the Ford credit office and they can assist you. If you need their toll free number its 1800-727-7000 they are available 8 am to 7 pm central time. They will refer you to your loacl office and the local office will either tell you what dealer is taking over your account or assist you themselves

You can try another F.L.M. dealer or contact the lean holder ( WHOEVER YOU ARE PAYING ), they actually bought the car new and rented it to you.
