making them watch bad movies such as Battlefield Earth,The Beverly Hillbillies,Gigli, any of The Cheech and Chong movies of the 1980s,The Island of Dr. Moreau,Waterworld,Biodome,Ball... Ecks vs. Sever, and really any Adam Sandler movie.. ..for every time they misbehave they would have to watch a certain amount of time of each movie..The amount of time depends on the level of disobedience. For example not cleaning your room would result in having to watch 30 minutes of a wet Kevin Costner in "Water World" If this works on my kids I think I will write a book and make millions. I really Think I'm on too something..

You need to quit being lazy and take care of your kids. That is what is wrong with kids today! Nobody wants to do the hard work of telling what to do and what not to do, and then following through with it. If you love your kids, make them do right, teach them right. Period, that is the only thing that will work. Look at society's problems, it is because parents do not take responsibility for the kids!!! People wake up!!!

discipline does not have an easy way out. Haven't you ever sat through a movie but dazed off into space and didn't really know what was going on? Ethical isn't really the question, it's effectiveness. Did they learn their lesson? Does the reward of doing something wrong out weigh sitting through a crumby movie?

I think you're on to something big here!
But Battlefield Earth is cruel and unusual punishment and I believe there is an adendum in the Geneva convention regarding that film.

Actually, I would watch 30 minutes of a wet Kevin Costner even if I did clean my room. Thanks for your input on child care, I think, perhaps, you can write a book. If Dr. Spock can do it, you can do it....spare the rod and have a rotten kid.

If you're too lazy to teach your kids to behave correctly, how are you ambitious enough to write a book about child discipline?

Well what's to say that they wouldn't like these films? Granted they suck but your kids might be sick in the head.
