Christians don't really believe in hell for themselves--they love using it as a threat for the NON Christians.
It is hell and eternal damnation that gives them cachet, makes them feel important and want to go out and proselytize to the unchurched. Without hell and it's bandleader, Satan, there's nothing to do for the missionaries, the Mormons, the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower people, etc. There's no reason to try to overpopulate the world, prepare for the End Times.
Face it; without hell, there's no Christianity!

The root of all christianity is the fact that upon faith, there is a heaven and hell. Christians want to believe there is a heaven, and they believe Jesus Christ died for their sins. In pure belief alone, they can go to Heaven this way. Everyone wants some kind of knowledge on what happens to them after death. People who call themselves Christians are people who believe they are going to Heaven. That is a really good question though, I would probably still have faith in Him if I didn't believe in the existence of Heaven or hell, but probably not as strongly.

Yes I would. In fact I very much disagree with the prospect of "scaring" people into the kingdom. If you look at Jesus, He didn't do stuff like that. And as a Christian, Jesus is my model, so I shouldn't try to scare people into heaven. Besides, that doesn't work very well. God is not a God of fear. Here's a quote:
2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
A sound mind. One that thinks through what he is doing, not one rashly heading into some belief because he wants to save his bacon from burning.
God is a God of love. Punishment is not something that He wishes to do, kinda like I hate to get severe with my kids but I must hold certain boundaries with them or they will not be secure etc.. He wants us all to live :
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So you see. I personally came to Him because I saw how much He really cared about me, personally and the stuff I was going through every day, not out of fear of burning in hell.
Ya know, He wants you to know Him too.

100 no-nillion years is a speck of sand to eternity. Not all Christians believe in eternal torment for a half century of sin. The wages of sin are death.

Well we would be very different Christians with a totaly different view of God.(Well we would not be Chistians but we can believe in A god , just not the Christian one) It says in the Book of Mormon (Yes we Mormons are Chistians contrary to popular belief) that "If there be no hell, there be no wickedness and if there be no wickedness, there be no heaven, if there be no heaven, there be no god and if there be no god then we shal not be." Or somthing like that. Does that make sence?

Not an issue for me, I came back to Christianity after leaving a "fire and brimstone" upbringing. What brought me back was a quest for God, not a ticket out of damnation.

God has a set of 10 rules for us to follow, and if we don't follow those rules, we will go to a special place for sinners, where we will eternally burn, suffer and be tortured. But He loves us... In other words, if God forgives, then logically hell can't exist.

Of course. My coming to Christ had nothing to do with fear of hell. I came to Christ because I wanted a personal relationship with my Creator.

Your question is pointless, as Hell does exist. I won't be going there when I die, not because I'm a good person, but because of God's grace and Jesus dying on the cross for my sins.
