An iron will use pretty well the full 1700 watts of power that are available to it when set to full heat.
The power used by a TV depends on its size, but even the biggest sets don't use anything near as much power: maybe 400 watts.

Yea 9 timesout of 10 heating devices draw more power!!
So the iron would out do the tv by a long shot!!
