Just write from the heart. You can't go wrong. Ask others who are of the same mind as you to also write a letter.

Just tell the substitute that you are grateful despite bad behavior from other students.

It means the world to all teachers, substitutes and regular teachers alike, to hear words of gratitutde from students and to hear a student acknowledge the bad behavior of other students.

Just do it. Write the letter.

Aw I had that happen in my 8th year. Teacher was having a baby and the sub was so nice, but yeah treated like crap.

I didn't write a letter, but if I were to I'd say something about how nice she was, and how her teaching helped/affected you and your classmates.

Something else that would be good to mention would be a sort of apology from the whole class for acting up, and end it with thanking her for all she's done and hoping she'll continue to teach and that you'll see her again.

BTW, the sub in my case actually went on to become a real teacher for my school when another retired -- so you never know!

Good luck! :)

You can just let her know in a Thank You card that it was nice to have her as a teacher. Teachers love to get a simple thank you. A funny card would probably work best. SOmething that says It was nice having you around here..or something like that. It doesn't matter how anyone else feels. A thank you from one person can make ALL the difference.

Just write from the heart, and I'm sure you'll get your sentiment across. Also, have someone proofread it for you -- your spelling and grammar are not very good, and you want your teacher to know that you learned something. Otherwise, this is a very nice thing to do.

As a teacher, it would be very nice if you just wrote the way that you feel and express your kindness for her.
