Nephites and Lamanites were descendants of brothers, thus they are cousins. Both were direct descendants of Joseph who was sold into Egypt. Their father, Lehi, was a descendant of Manasseh, the elder of Joseph's sons. They took wives of the daughters of a man named Ishmael, a descendant of Ephraim, the younger son of Joseph.
Thus, the children of the Nephites and the Lamanites are blood descendants of both sides of the tribe of Joseph.
The remnant of the Nephites and Lamanites can be found in what we call the indigenous people of North and South America. So unless the people you are talking to have ancestry in the indigenous people of America, then none of us can answer your question in the affirmative.
I am a descendant of European stock that came to America in the 1600s.
