You can call Microsoft for help, they will walk you through the setup over the phone.
They helped me do a clean install setup on my computer from a Vista Upgrade of Home Premium.
Good Luck, only problems I had was my sound card drivers didn't work until I trial and errored a while, and my TV card took a while to get to work, but I got it working too.

dump it and go back to what ever you was using before
oh dear.... not another, Why have you gone out and bought Vista, I hope it is not the Basic home version upgrade, the one that you can do nothing with,
Do you never do your home work? by doing some research on a product before you buy it.
why oh why don't you download Linux it is free it is secure, it's better than Vista
