He said its because he doesnt need friendster to broadcast that we are together and i dont buy it. I find it, on the other hand, silly to break-up with him only because of friendster. But how will I know if he is seriously dating just me and nobody else if he cant proclaim that he is indeed in a relationship WITH ME?

I don't honestly know anything about a" friendster" account; but I can spot a lie a mile away.
I think that you are 100 percent correct in not buying it.
The real problem is, what else is he only telling half-truths or outright lies about????
People who are in happy committed relationships should not have any problem proclaiming this at anytime, to anyone.
There is a definite truth and trust issue here.

I was in a similar situation -- feeling stupid worrying about something like that and yet feeling hurt. Well, eventually I did find out he was cheating.
You deserve someone who would be proud to announce that that he's taken and not interested in anyone else but you. It may seem silly to break up over something like this, but sometimes the smallest things can mean so much.

I might suggest that you go to the nearest hospital or old folks home and try to make them happy, or at least make their day. The problem is that you must have a tad of patience as the answer will turn up as soon as you forget about this particular silly "problem." Get a life, buy a book and read it, take piano or violin lessons, workout. You will know if he likes you or not as time goes by. You will run men off insisting they put up big flags when they go with you. The world doesn't have to know everything about you all the time.
I hope you find Mr. Right ASAP.

Your guy should be proud that he is with you. If he doesn't put that he is in a relationship obviously he wants others to think that he's single. What a jerk. You should put single on your account too and see how he feels. Good Luck and don't ever let anyone mess with you!!!!!

could be fear of what others would say about him, could be wanting to play the field, could be him thinking there could be someone better out there that will fit him better, could be he's a playa, and wants no relationship at this time

He is still in "search" of someone better than you though he loves you....who knows he can find someone who he truly loves more than you do....or vice versa...he is not true to you...i therefore say...hmhmmhm...think????
