A week ago no one even mentioned rat poison. It was all about mold on the wheat gluten. Not sure why most of you even answer these questions. Not even a fresh thought or opinion, just reciting the news reports and what everyone has already heard. Nothing at all to add to the topic. Ever thought that they may not know the scope of the problem, and that certain types of other food is contaminated as well. Wow, what a thought.

Well a Lawsuit is on the way. Pedigree is NOT on the list, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE. The scope of this problem is more wide spread than the media is reporting. My 5 year old healthy, indoor lab/chow mix died Monday from kidney failure. We have been feeding her pedigree for quite some time now. She died within a day and a half of getting the same symptoms renal/kidney failure is causing. We had her blood work done Monday morning at 9 and then she died at 2 pm. We got the bloodwork back later that day confirming my research, renal/kidney failure with toxin levels at 125%, enough for it to have been poison in her system --- and low and behold they are now reporting that rat poison may have been a factor in these foods. BELIEVE ME. It is not just the WET FOODS, and it IS NOT JUST THE FOODS ON THE LIST. Don't reply back to this and regurgitate the news and what you hear, do some actual research and spread the word that any food is not safe right now.

I'm still feeding my dogs pedigree and they're all fine!
Pedigree is one of the better products I've come across. Not only does your dog eat less off it because it actually have all the nutrients they need, but after some 2 weeks you'll notice that your dogs coat looks great, his nose is healthy and moist, and he'll look happy. I've tried lots of different foods for my dogs, and Pedigree is best. Be sure to get the right type according to the breed size and age - very important.

In regard to answering the questions and relaying what was said on the news, keep in mind that not all people follow the news regularly. I don't. So it does serve a purpose, even if the info doesn't have a breakthrough in it.

You are right...you can not be SURE that anything is safe....This particular recall is linked to the manufacturer in Canada...pedigree is not made or proccessed there...However where did this particular company get the wheat glutten that it used to make these canned foods? Was there wheat gluten that was distributed to any places that make "people" food of some sort? You can't be sure that anything is safe...BUT at the same time you can't go around being completely paranoid all of the time...you would die from the stress!

The people who own and operate Pedigree Dog Food would be open to MAJOR lawsuits if even one case of poisoning, and/or death occurred after stating that their dog food / product was safe.

You know what Aaron, do you know the scope of the problem? Neither do we...if you know what we should look for, please inform us. Do you really think that we are stupid and care less about our beloved pets. Truth is, no one knows what the sticking problem is, if you already know, CLUE US IN, BROTHER!! It's a friggin' cover up until the facts are in...do you really think every pet owner is stupid outside of YOU!!! Stop judging and start participating.

Why did you even spend all that time typing the above "info", if you are "not sure why most of you even answer these questions"?

We answer questions to give others benefit of our knowledge, learning and opinions.

AND NOW to answer your question: I'm not sure of Pedigree, but I don't feed my dog that crap anyway.

also, it's one of the few brands NOT made by Menu Foods, which is the corporation involved in the recall.
