Bleach and color are two different things. Since you and bleach don't get along, try using hiar color to get your hair lighter. You'll want to tell your hairdresser that bleach factoid. They might want to test color on your skin and see if you have a bad reaction to it as well. If the color doesn't make you do funny things, then use color.
I turn bright red all over when I use bleach or color, so I have to have it foiled in. It never touches your scalp when they do foils, thank goodness.

use foils or pull it through a cap as long as it doesn't get on your scalp
