I guess it depends on how the question comes up... If I work in a store that sells Oscar Meyer or hot dogs, then I might think you're serious or funny. Otherwise, it really doesn't make sense... no offense.

I would be offended, yes. It may seem like a harmless joke but it's basically asking if they like to blow a piece of male anatomy. That's not appropriate. It shows that the brain you're thinking with is not the one above your shoulders and that you're not interested in them as a person but more along the lines of a hooker you don't pay. I'd stop telling that "joke"- if you haven't been kicked in the groin yet, it could only be a matter of time.

Yes, i would be put off. I work at an Italian restaurant and the other day a guy at my table asked me if I'd like to "try his sausage" because his spaghetti had a full link sausage on it. The whole table laughed, but I didn't find it funny.
