we are hiring a new teen age sitter for our kids and I wanted to know what the going rate was beofre I negotiate wage with her to watch our two kids onthe occasional eveing so hubby and I could go out once in a while.

I also want to add tthat we just moved to this town and don't know anyone to ask what the going rate here is other than the actual sitter which I will have to do I guess.

I have 2 kids: I pay $7/hr.....keeps the babysitter coming back whenever I need her....

I used to get paid $5/hour to babysit, but it really depends on the area. Also, minimum wage in Ontario went up to $7.75 for students recently... so I think $6-7 should be sufficient in most areas.

If you are really curious, ask a neighbour or the parents of your child's playmates. They should be able to give you a good idea of what the going rate is in your town.

im not in canada but heres what ive made

three kids 9,6, and 3 8am-10pm i got 30 bucks

one 7 year old, 8am-7pm i got 60 bucks

one 1 year old, 5pm-midnight i got 20 bucks

two 7 yearolds, a 7 month old, and a 11 year old 7pm-midnight i got 60 bucks

Family-FREE

I guess its just whatever you want, the kids are older,so id say 30-40 bucks a night? Just give her what you feel like she earned

My 16 year old gets $5/hr. babysitting is a lot of work

i live in the us and get paided 7 dollars an hour i think it is very reasionable but i dont know what that is in canadian money
