I just put nero on my comp. and now it's become my primary music thing. I know how to right click and choose media player but how can i make it my PRIMARY music thing so it automatically plays with media player instead of right clicking without deleting nero?

When you say "primary music thing" I'm guessing you mean primary player for mp3s and WMAs. The easiest way to reset your default player -- next time you play music -- is, open Windows Explorer and go to the file(s) you want to play. When you right click, click on "Open With..." and at the bottom of the list that pops up you'll see the option "Choose program..." Click on that, and a list of according-to-Microsoft "preferred" programs will display for the format of the file you want to open. Windows Media Player will always be on that list for music and video files (one reason for the federal lawsuit) so click on that icon, then check the box at the bottom of the list box that says "Always use the selected program to open this type of file." After that WMP *should* open whenever you double-click on an mp3 file. You'll have to do this once for each type of music file you use (mp3, wma, wav [?], etc.), and it doesn't work for Apple's AAC format or for RealAudio files.

If you're talking about what program opens to play CDs when you close the CD drawer, that's a little different. You'll still open Windows Explorer, but this time click on Tools on the menu bar, then Folder Options. When a box opens onscreen, click the File Types tab. Windows will create a list of all the file types you have on your machine. Scroll down the list to "CD - Audio CD Track." Highlight that, then click the Change button. The list of MS-preferred programs will open as described above, and then you click the Windows Media Player icon and the "Always use this program" box, then Enter.

Lots of steps, but Microsoft doesn't like making things easy.

While in media player click on tools--options-- then select the file types and choose what kind of files you want media player to play, this should override the nero if not try to find the same setting on nero and deselect the choices on it.
