I personally dont care if one chooses to dress in the national costume of a country they dont live in, or have no ancestry from. Some people I know think that is a mockery of another culture to wear their costume. I am mostly Italian, and I really wouldnt be offended if someone wore an Italian costume(and yes, there is such a thing,) but I think that its wrong to tell people they cant, since its their business what they wear, and it seems kinda discriminative. Why should arabs come over to our country and dress American, but someone who isnt foregn cant

I don't think it's mockery or offending to wear most clothes, unless it's something that is traditionally restricted to only a certain group in that country.... for example Scots shouldn't be offended when someone who isn't Scottish wears a kilt, but they do have certain patterns for certain clans, that you aren't supposed to wear when you aren't part of that clan, regardless of whether you're a Scot or not. I don't think it'd be appropriate to wear anything traditionally meant for chiefs or priests or medicine men etc either. But regional or national clothes that, within that region, everyone can wear? If you're wearing their clothes because they're comfortable and great looking, shouldn't that be a compliment rather than an insult???

It depends on the reason. If it is to ridicule that country(except France, but who cares?Who would want to wear their native attire?)no. However, if you want to use that to talk about that country, say to give a report, or to honor that country, why not? Hey, if you want to dress in leopard skin and a tu-tu go ahead.

People taht arent from a certain country shouldnt wear their clothes. I think its a little rude and a form of mockery.
