I would like to sell my 1995 Ford Windstar van privately. This car has had extensive work done on it e.g. new motor, transmission, struts, springs. Should I advertise that? I would like $1500. for it, what is the best way to get the word out. I have never sold anything like this before and would appreciate any productive suggestion. Serious answers only thank you.

First off, it has to be a Canadian car. Not selling from the US. into Canada. Lots of paperwork.
Second, try your local newspaper. The one with the biggest circulation. Free papers delivered door to door have a pretty big circulation. Fridays is a day when the largest amount of vehicles are advertized, next is Saturday.
You could also put a ForSale sign on it and park it out front and have the info of the repairs posted as well as the price. Always ask more (allowance for a low offer and haggle to the price where you both are happy. And don't go for the first offer especially if it is low. You can wait. It is like fishing.

to sell it privately with the least amount of hassle, i have found local papers to be good, or bulletin boards around town, when you start putting ads on national web sites you pay for more exposure than you need... nobody is gonna travel 1500 miles for a minivan you know what i mean.
