I would love to get one for my daughter who is getting over post natal depression and I hope that this will help her to get out by walking the dog and keep her busy when the baby is sleeping thanks for any help

Hi Susan,

Most rescue centres have a mixture of both large & small dogs - so hopefully you'll be able to find a suitable one.

This website has photos & short bios on the dogs currently looking for new homes:
The Animal House Rescue

Or the Wythall Animal Sanctuary?

I run a small scale rescue center in Montgomery. I usually deal with pit bulls but I have something your daughter would love. I have a "staffie" who won't be any larger than about 35 lbs. If you're looking for something smaller, there is a boston terrier rescue group and I think a jack russell group too, I'm sorry I don't know the web pages though.

Hi

Not sure whether you live in Brum, or within its boundaries, but you could try Birmingham Dogs Home in New Canal Street; or the Blue Cross, in Bromsgrove, or the Dogs' Trust in Evesham. They all rescue dogs of all breeds and sizes.

They are all near to Birmingham. They have all kinds of rescue dogs for you to love.

Good Luck xx

www.petfinder.com Check this site out. You can put in your location and exactly what size, breed and age of dog you are looking for. Also all the dogs have been temperment tested and show if they are good with other dogs, cats and kids.

Plus this way you know you are going to rescue a pup that really needs a good home. Good luck and thanks for being responsible and wanting to rescue a dog!

Birmingham in England? Or the one in Alabama.
Check the sites below, first one is for England's Birmingham and second is for the Alabama's one.
