Hell is the end of your soul, your existence. Bad spirits do not mingle with good ones and when Jesus returns through him you can be saved from hell. if not you will be destroyed for eternity. The Devil himself will have a chance for redemption but will betray God a second time and the Devil himself will no longer exist. To be in Hell you will be left in darkness till the return of Christ.

because it is hard for some people to grasp the idea that people like Hitler and people like mother Teressa could possibly end up in the same place....
hell is a place where those who have done wrong go... how can bad deeds go unpunished?
i personally believe karma takes care of most of that.. however sometimes our lives are too short to take care of it all.. so hell exits, but only temporally.

I don't know, but there is not a place called hell were people go for eternity. In the bible the wicked just get burned totally up and perish(Malachi 4) and that is after the second resurrection. No one is in heaven or hell right now(John 3:13) You just die when you die you don't go anywhere right after you die.

The hellfire doctrine is not a truly scriptural.
About the 3rd century, Bible verse was changed concerning Gehenna, to rhyme with Hellenistic beliefs of immortality.

Because it's written about in the Bible, and EVERYTHING in the Bible is true! Maybe people just spread the idea to prevent people committing terrible sins for fear of repercussions in a later life. Think about it - if people weren't afraid of consequences of their actions, would we have any morals or know what was right and wrong at all?

That's a stupid question.
What are some reasons why so many people don't believe in Heaven?
How can you believe in Hell and not Heaven? Doesn't make any freakin' sense.

People believe in Hell because they WANT the people who are "wicked" to be punished. People need to believe in justice, wether its hell or karma, they hate to see bad people not get their come-upance.
Of course, most of these people consider having different religious views to be the worst form of wickedness, and are very happy to tell people of other faiths that they are going to burn.
"A religion that rids itself of Hatred will soon rid itself of its followers"
