my bird flew away two weeks ago and I havent seen him since. The thing is though, is that i hear him sometimes, i think. Do i tell my parents, or do i keep it to myself and try to investigate on my own. I am afraid if i tell them they might tell me, no, no he is not there. Your just sad and cant get over it. I am afraid that will make things worse. The bird sounds so much like him though and it is bugging me. the sad thing is is that remains of him was found, but nothing proving that he is dead, maybe just hurt. Or maybe the remains werent his. I didnt look becuase i didnt think i could handle it. please help. Do i let it go, ask my parents, or move on?

Maybe leave some of his favorite food outside and he might come back. A simular thing happened to me last year. I accidently left open my daughter's parakeet cage and 7 of her 8 parakeets escaped. I still keep watching the skies for them a year later.

Mourn your bird and then get a new one and keep its wings clipped.

Good luck!

I'd leave bait out for the fella. If he appears, you know that you weren't going nuts! I'd bring it up to your parents. I know of many stories of lost birds being found 4 years after they escaped, especially in the warmer countries. Often pet birds will move in with wild birds in the American south, moving with them as a flock member. Often that's the only reason why they're alive!

If your guy is dead (and Lets hope not!), I hope this gives you something to consider. I don't know about you, but I accept an afterlife. I swear I hear some of my deceased budgies and finches flying around and chattering in the apartment on nice days. It's a really REALLY weird feeling (the chirping can be heard physically and its in a room where my birds aren't kept), but it gives me a lot of comfort!

I would tell my parents, then put up signs saying that you lost a bird because if some one finds your bird they won't know that it's yours because you have not told any one. Go where you thought that you heard and hand out flyers and ask any one if they saw him. take some food with in case he is there

I'd tell your folks, they may be able to help recapture him if it is him you hear.

Leave some of his fave food out as 'bait' and to help him incase if as I suspec the has been in a cage since birth and may not know how to find food, he wont starve.

If you do get a new bird, only clip one wing so he can't fly. If you clip both he'll still manage. If you only clip one, it affects his balance and makes it harder to get airborne.
