The way to access government grants for college is by completing the FAFSA form. It taps state and federal financial need based financial aid along with help from the college or university itself. It is based on a formula of family income (parents and yours if under 24) and savings. It is free to complete. Good luck!

Did you submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)? By completing and submitting this form, you may be eligible for government funds. What college(s) do you plan on going to? They can offer money to you too, but it's mainly if you have the grades that they're looking for on top of other credentials.

It sounds like you are an eligible noncitizen who willbe eligible for some type of federal grants or loans. You should complete the FAFSA ASAP for best consideration. You can complete it online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
