Whenever I send this guy who I'm talking to online an email saying something sweet he always seems to call me up the same day and kinda tease me about it but in a way where he seems flattered but doesn't know how to express it . Is he flattered but doesn't know how to express it? or Is he just not use to being complimented? He always compliments me through pictures I send him but it's different when I do this to him. Why?

He sounds like he is not used to being honest/straight-forward about his feelings. Some people are better at expressing themselves then others. And some people WANT to communicate their feelings to others whereas others don't.

He probably doesn't know how to handle a complement maybe because he's not used to getting them. Set an example for him on how you want him to respond to you. So when he gives you a complement, say thanks and mean it.

Some people think accepting a complement has to come with an acceptance speech...its not that complicated and the more complements they get, the better they will be at handling them.

Well what is he saying, that would be more helpful, but generally speaking guys use teasing and sarcasm to show affection so yeah he is probably flattered. If you said something sweet anyway and he isn't flattered by it why would you bother talking to someone like that.

maybe both, he may not be used to compliments, or doesn't know how to express it. but the good news is, he seems to like you if he calls you after every message, that's nice right?
