I am a 22 years old and I take pretty good care of myself. I eat healthy, and work out on a regular basis. However, I have always been unhappy with the way my abs look. The way my body is, even if I gain half a pound I seem to gain it in my stomach. What can I do to gain more definition in this area of my body? I do cardio , 60 mins 6 days a week , and resistance traning and also ab crunches . not sure what else I should do ? thanks

It's called the captains chair. Look it up online- it is the best ab exercise ever, but it's hard.

If you are doing cardio 60 minutes a day for 6 days, plus resistance training. That could be your problem. You need to give your body time to heal and rest. You should be on a 2000 calories per day diet if you are working out that much. If you go under that you are probably starving your body. When that happens it goes into starvation mode. Stores fat and uses muscle.
I suggest you cut back to 4 days a week for a while to see if that helps. And eat a lot of protein foods to help muscles repair.
Good luck and take it a little slower...

I read somewhere once that in order to make abdominal workouts more effective that you should always contract your muscles. Even right now, as you're sitting in your chair, "suck in" or tighten your abs.

If you go for a bike ride, keep a constant effort on keeping your abs flexed the whole time. I did this and noticed an improvement in not only my core strength but also shape.

Can't hurt either way :)

I feel very....oh....uneasy about my body too. Try just plain dieting...the South beach maybe!! Or when working out, do exercises that aim specifically at your stomach! There are many methods for stubborn bellies, get on the Internet and do some research and find ways to get rid of the blub that forms there!

GOOD LUCK!!

You need to grow your abdomen muscles larger so they show through that little bit of bodyfat that covers them.

There is a crunch machine at most gyms that you can stack weights on and do crunches. Put as much weight on as you can do 5 times and do 3 or 4 sets of however many you can do each time.

It sounds like you're active enough but how is your diet? Dieting is at least 50% of any exercise plan.
