I'm 22, my girl is 19. We live in NY. Her family is moving to Atlanta in July cuz they got this new house down there. She's gonna go to school there for 2 years then come back to N.Y. to stay.
But she really doesnt wanna go and I could sense shes a bit depressed about having to go. Things are great between us, we're both on the same level about everything, I'm talking crazy chemistry here. We're very happy with each other.
Well I came up with the idea that she could go to school in N.Y., she could stay here, and live in student housing, a hostel. They have ones here that charge between $17-$30 a night, which I can afford, I would pay it for her until shes able to find work and pay herself. Her parents dont have a problem with her staying in N.Y. as long she has a way shes able to.
I haven't told her about this idea yet, I'm kinda scared of her thinking I'm being too..... I don't know what the word is, maybe you know what I'm talking about. But what do you think? Is it a bad idea?

Bless you for wanting to help her (and, incidentally, of course, keep her in your area). However, you are mixing financial matters with matters of the heart. That's putting the cart before the horse in a way. Just for anyhow, suppose she doesn't get a job and you are supporting her. And then, you break up? It could get dicey in a hurry.

Well I think its nice you want her to stay near you..But, is she resposible enough to be without her family? I am sure they are providing all things for her..If you were to pay her housing you must also think about this she needs to eat too, and the many other things you will have to buy for her...So its not just paying for her room ya know its taking care of her...
Are you sure your not worried about losing her? Kinda seems like it..
it also seems by the way you wrote this you have already talked to her parents about it....Didnt go to her first??
Now you should take her out for a nice relaxing evening and just ask her what she wants to do (no pressure though)..remember to listen and not talk until she is finished ok...
