An alternator/starter rebuilding facility may be able to upgrade the output of your stock (should be 105 amp) alternator. Another thing would be to upgrade or improve the size of the "battery" wire that goes from your alternator to a larger size. This will in effect give you the ability to charge quicker and use the alternators available capacity. In most cars this wire is way to small and you are not getting the full benefit of even the stock rated alternator! It is like trying to push 200 pounds of pressure through a garden hose! It won't happen! Also I would install a second battery in parallel with your starting battery. You can install it in the trunk. This should give you ample capacity.

Look at Iraggi's line of high output alternators. I believe they make some car make-specific models and offer models that generate more than 300 amps.

Look at

http://www.summitracing.com

or

http://www.jcwhitney.com .

They both sell factory replacement alternators with a higher output. I think you'll be looking for an alternator with a higher AMPERAGE output. Summit Racing will show an advertised output, but if you call, you can get the same model with a higher amperage output.

generally the factory has a few models ... the "loaded" cars come with bigger alternators usually ... so if u went to the parts counter and asked im sure they could cross reference all of them ... if u live close to a remove-it-urself junkyard u could probably come up with a nice one also .. check around on things like cadilacs and stuff to see if their huge power generators will bolt into urs ...
