i will comprehend the sadness of the neighboring human beings if the bells went off each hour between 8am and 8pm. that would desire to get extremely stressful. In my residing house city, the main cathedral performs their bells at midday First they chime out the hour, then play musically. It sounds valuable, yet they do no longer play them each hour on the hour. i do no longer think of it has something to do with the actual incontrovertible fact that they are Christian or that that's a church. that's stressful to take heed to loud bells all day daily. i comprehend...I stay down the line from a school that performs a wierd chime while it different areas of the day come (college starts, recess, lunch, hometime, etc...), and it gets stressful after a whilst.

while it's hard to cpmprehend just what you are saying.... church bells don't "ring" on someones voice mail. if you are getting that - someone is messing with you. other times, bells ring to signify the time of day, weddings, funerals or prominent deaths in the community, state or country. for example, on 9/11 - bells were rung. when pope john paul 2 died - all bells rung....

Often wondered about that myself, I grew up in a house that was a block away from a big Baptist church, and those things carried on every day it seemed.

They indicate the time of day. They also indicate when it is time to go to church.
