Recycle it at a community household hazardous waste center, or just go to Autozone/NAPA/AdvanceAuto etc. and they'll take up to 5 quarts of it for free (you have to give them a name and address usually but who's the wiser if you aren't Julio Iglesias living at 123 Main St.).

You could also leave it outside, and let a little water get into the container, though you'd beter thave lots of excess contianer capacity. Over time it will turn into a white cream. With enough warm weather, water, and time the bacteria will eat it for you! Cool, huh?

By law, any place that sells oil must accept used oil for recycling. I have recycled oil at Walmart. But they don't make it easy. They only accept oil at certain times and dates. Check with the store to find out when they accept oil.

Contact a waste disposal site, or your garbage collector (some collectors will dispose of oil and grease for no extra charge). Whatever you do, don't pour it down the drain!!!
