him(jeff gordon fan), but now i see how good he was for the sport. slowly over time i have become mostly bored(not totally) because they seem to just circle the track and do their best not to cause an incident. I think its because of how much money they get just for finishing, not winning. Dale sr just pushed them out of the way. He lost his life blocking for mikey and dale jr as i recall. Now the other drivers would probably get really upset for blocking. Is it just me?

Unfortunatly the guard must change,The lost of Earnhardt signaled the end of the "old" modern era.Earnhardt,Davey Allison,Alan Kulwicki lost before their time.
Retirement of Wallace,Labonte,Waltrip.Yes the old days had there characters.
Todays hot shots will retire one day and some of the younger writers will be saying the same thing but changing the names.
As for the way that Senior "bumped"other cars he knew where to bump them and how hard to bump.He did not bump in the turns, nor would he bump and lift them at the fastest points of the tracks.Yws people try today but none can do it like Senior.
That's all I can say about that.

I have to agreee with you, except one thing, I was always a Sr. fan it's just not the same without the BLACK 3 on the track. I love the sport, but just feel something missing and I know what it is. Sr. could see the air, and didn't always push people out of the way, he just got close enough to take the air and either pass or wreck. Yes, he died, doing what he loved, and he was protecting Mikey and Jr. from Sterling Marlin pulling a slingshot. I know one thing, I knew the second he hit the wall, it was the end of a Great Legend

Dale Sr was the dinosaur of NASCAR racing. He was the last driver that the sponsors would allow to drive as aggressively as he did. Today's drivers are pretty much cut out of the same mold. NASCAR commentators try to create contention between some of the drivers but it's so obvious and hokey I feel embarrassed for them. And some of the drivers stomp and spit trying to appear as though they're tough but they just don't have it. Welcome to corporate America.

Yes, Dale is very much so missed. I like Mark Martin, but he isnt racing that many races. The wins go to Gordon's head. I dont like him.
