I know this isn't an orthodox question, but I beg you to bear with me and help our family.
My grandfather's dog might possibly have bone cancer, and we need all the prayers we can get for her recovery. This dog is very important. She's a retired service dog who belonged to my grandmother after she was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. After my grandmother died, Star became one of the most important beings in my grandfather's life, and if she were to go now, he'd just be crushed.
I know there are many of you out there who consider your dogs a family member and would hate to see your dog in a horrible situation like this. I'm asking all of you from the bottom of my heart to send up a small prayer for the recovery of our dog. You have no idea how much of a positive impacked you will have just by doing this!
Thank you so much for your help!

I do know how much an animal can mean to a person, I have a dog and can't imagine something happening to him. God really does care about them too. I have learned in my life that God answers all kinds of prayers! I said a prayer for your dog and for your grandfather that he would be comforted if something ever does happen to his dog.

I feel your pain and I will pray for your dog. But think of the pain your dog is going through, would you want your grandfather or one of the other members of your family to be suffering and having the pain of cancer. If your dog is over 10 years old then try to do the humane thing and think of the pain and suffering your lovely dog is dealing with. If the vet can not cure the cancer and your dog is under 10 then you might still want to think about doing the humane thing for your dog and putting him or her to sleep.
I know how hard it will be for you and you family to do this, I needed to put my last dog to sleep after having him for nearly 16 years since his heart was failing and causing his lungs to fill up with fluid. We did try to make him better with pills which seemed to help for a few weeks, but we know he was in pain and suffering from this so we did what we thought was best for him. We did have his body cremated and asked the vet to get his ashes put in a urn, so we still have him in a way. The urn with his remains is sitting on the desk in my parant's room and I go in once in a while and pat the urn and talk to it like it's him there. I miss him a lot, but I know he is in a better place and that he is watching over me. He is still in my heart too.
But I am praying for your dog to get better.

Reading your post, I just got this sensation that she doesn't have cancer, but she is ailing and will need extra care. I may be way off on this, but it's what I felt.
While Star will be in my prayers, I recommend that your grandfather bond as tightly as he can with Star, but that he also get involved in other activities - such as donating time at an animal shelter. Star will not be there forever, and he needs to adjust. She was there for him at a crucial time. Now he may need another to help him when Star's time comes. Help him be mentally prepared for this as best as you can. He will be emotionally devastated - I speak from experience - but mental preparation will help one overcome the loss faster. By getting him more involved in the lives of others, including other animals, he may be more mentally prepared. However, when that sad time comes, allow him time to grieve. A loss of a pet may be just as devastating as the loss of a human - oftentimes moreso as no human can offer that unconditional love.
I wish you all, especially Star, the best.

I wish you and your pet well. We've lost a few pets over the years and know that it doesn't get any easier. Please see the vet. If it's not bone cancer, I'm sure he/she will do their best to see that your pet recovers, but if it is cancer, don't make it suffer by trying to avoid facing the truth. We did this once and realize now how wrong we were to make believe it wasn't happening! Our little "Duffie" suffered, I'm sure, because I didn't want to give her up. Prayers go out to all of you!

I have a cat named Star.
Pet the dog and concentrate all your energy into healing her. I will say a prayer tonight for her as well. Group prayer is the same as group energy. If we can all channel our energies today with this dog in our thoughts then we might succeed.
