how can I make him like me more?

you shouldnt change yourself at all and if he doesnt like you for who you are then you shouldnt waste anymore time on him

There is not too much that you can do to get him to like you more.
However if you want to tackle shy .. then there are some books that might help. The essence is to get out more and to be gently forced into doing and saying more.
Join a club .. acting, debating ..church .. ki-aikido .. yoga .. something where you can meet and greet the public. Perhaps take a public speaking course.
exercise will help too. Things that will let you feel your own power...and increase it.
this will help you chart your own course .. and will make you more interesting to yourself and perhaps to others .. even if this guy doesn't care.

Don't try to change yourself to suit someone else. I've had the best luck with the opposite sex by being real, and being me. If you change to impress them, usually it just makes them feel uncomfortable, or even confused when they find out who you really are.
On a side note, being more outgoing is a different thing... and usually being outgoing will make you more attractive to the opposite sex...
I dont know your exact situation, but see if you can find some common ground to start a conversation over. if he makes an effort to keep talking then you're going in the right direction.. if he responds with a one-word answer, forget about him =)

If a guy doesn't like you because you're too shy, then he's a jerk, and you don't want him. Seriously! A nice guy will try to get to know you even if you're a little shy. Don't worry about changing for a guy. It's beneath you, sweetie. Good luck.

Being shy has it's own attraction. If you're thinking of becoming more aggressive, don't. Being more open is enough. If you go too far it would be out of character for you. Besides attracting others, you've gotta live with yourself and feel comfortable with your self-esteem. Don't act like somebody that someone else would like unless it's someone you woulld like to be. But, understand, it's just acting.
People want to know the real you and will find you attractive without you having to act like somebody you aren't. If they don't, it isn't someone you will enjoy being with for very long. That's what you are supposed to learn in the dating game. Be yourself and beware of someone who's afraid to do that.

That's the biggest misconception that women and girls make, trying to change for a man's attention and affection. I'm sorry babydoll i know that you like him and want to be with him, but he can't like you for you then he's not the one for you. You don't need to change at all. i used to be shy, still am at some point, but the thing is I tried to change for the attention of guys and it got me into situations with them I wasn't ready to explore. Once a guy tried to take advantage of me and I wasn't ready to do anything with him, but try and get to know him. When, I was myself I found out guys liked the quiet, shy, me and the sweetness they said I presented. Hun, there are worst things being something other than yourself, its easy to do, but if u really want the affects of a guy to be real, let them like who YOU REALLY ARE, not the made over you. Be yourself and you'll find that right boy to love you for you.

Don't change just for a guy, it's a pretty dumb decision, if you ask me, he should like you for who you are, not who you pretend to be. Plus, relationships don't last forever, so definitely don't change. Trust me you will be looking back on this saying OMG, I cant believe that I changed for this single guy.

well, i can tell you what you want to hear, and i can tell you the truth. i liked this guys and i found out he didnt like me. the truth is, you cant make a guy like you. it doesnt happen. you can make someone else like you, though. also, if he really liked you, he would like you even though you are shy. he just doesnt. like for instance, theres a kid that likes me, but i dont like him, and no matter how much he changes, i will never like him. but dont worry, im sure theres a guy out there for you

try to become less shy by making new friends nd opening up. show him the un-shy part of u. it works. if it doesnt hes a jerk to not like u anyway...

Nothing, keep being who you are if someone does not like you for being shy they are missing out on something wonderful. He is not worthy of your time.

try getting to know him....and when you get more comftable
you wont be so shy any more....... but you know that you never have to change for a guy.....if he makes you change he isnt worth it find someone that loves you for you.....
